Our franchisee in Ethiopia, the Company Hilina Enriched Food, is happy to announce that the Best Before date of its product is now 12 months after the manufacturing date.

This extension of the Best Before date has been obtained after a quality validation of the nitrogen used for packaging and thanks to the technical know-how acquired in the manufacturing process of the Plumpy'nut® product in sachets.

The organoleptic and nutritional properties of the product are then garanteed for 12 months after manufacture, in order to answer to the users's needs and to ease the product's distribution.

Now, Hilina can produce up to 100 Mt of the Plumpy'nut® product in sachets per month.

Plumpy’nut in the Field® Network would like to congratulate the company Hilina Enriched Foods on the occasion of the inauguration of its factory on Wednesday 21 February 2007.
The factory has been inaugurated by Ms. Ann M. Veneman, UNICEF Executive Director, Mrs. Amy Robbins, private donor who enabled the purchase of production equipments, Mr. Ato Girma Birru, Ethiopian Minister of Trade and Industry, and the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture.

This factory is the fourth one in the network and is also the biggest producer of the product Plumpy’nut in Africa*. Its production capacities should reach 65 Mt per month at the beginning of this year.
